A Chinese engineer has recently claimed that last year's earthquake in the Sichuan province may have been triggered by a major dam in the area. Fan Xiao, a chief engineer at the Sichuan Geology and Mineral Bureau has said that the pressure from the Zipingpu dam could have affected the timing and the intensity of the massive quake, which left more than 80,000 people dead or missing.
