At least eight pro-Tibet activists have been detained by Chinese police in Beijing, a Tibetan rights group has claimed. The New York-based Students for a Free Tibet said the protestors were detained when they tried to unfurl a Tibetan banner near the main Olympics venue. A British journalist covering the incident was also briefly detained.
