Today -- the 9th of November -- marks the eighteenth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989. It was the occasion that more than any other marked the ending of communism in central and eastern Europe. It also heralded German reunification, which followed a year later. And today the German parliament, the Bundestag, passed a motion to build a monument to freedom and reunification here in the capital Berlin. +++SYN-MAZ+++
