"We desperately need more fairness in the world market," German Agriculture Minister Renate Künast told 500 industry representatives from Germany and Brazil at a meeting in Goiânia, Brazil. Künast lamented the failure of WTO negotiations in Cancun, Mexico in Sept. after industrial and developing countries failed to overcome differences and called for a resumption of constructive talks. She said the aim must be "to create fair world trade that is accessible to all, allows sustained development and is subject to international rules that apply to all and are monitored as well." Künast was in Goiânia for the 21st annual German-Brazilian Economic Meeting.
