After disagreement of the U.S. invasion of Iraq plunged the transatlantic relationship to a new low, Americans once again have a positive image of Germany, according to a new poll. Around 69 percent of those polled by the Gallup Institute look fondly to the land of bratwurst and beer. Only 26 percent have a negative image of the country. The numbers contrast to March of 2003, after disagreement over the Iraq war led to tension between Washington and Berlin. Back then, 44 percent of those polled had a negative image of Germany.
