The European film industry has honoured its brightest talents at the continent's annual film awards. The big winner of the evening was the Italian mafia drama "Gomorra", which took prizes in five categories. The British star Kristin Scott Thomas was named best actress and there was also a special award for her illustrious colleague Judi Dench.
