German Chancellor Angela Merkel has addressed the Israeli parliament in Jerusalem on the final day of her trip to the region. She is the first German chancellor to address the Knesset. In her speech in German, Merkel began by praising Israel's achievements over the last 60 years and she emphasized Germany's special relationship with the Jewish state.
