The downslide continues on the international stock markets, and Asia remains particularly hard hit. On Monday alone, Hong Kong closed down more than 12 per cent, the main markets in Thailand and the Philippines lost more than 10 per cent, and Tokyo's Nikkei finished the day down more than 6 per cent.
