At Least Four Killed on German Roads

At least four people were killed and about 20 were injured in Germany overnight Sunday in accidents caused by icy road conditions, police said Sunday. The victims include the 21-year-old driver of a car in the southern region of Sulzbach-Rosenberg who was killed along with a

17-year-old passenger. Four other people in the car were seriously injured. In Minden, in the northwest, another 61-year-old man lost control of his car on an icy road and smashed into a tree killing the other passenger in the car. The man was seriously injured. A 78-year-old woman also died in the northern region of Dithmarschen as she was crossing an ice-covered road. Several accidents were also reported in other regions. Two people were killed overnight Saturday in accidents caused by snow and ice in Bavaria, in the south of the country. (AFP)
