Spanish soccer club FC Barcelona is reportedly interested in buying FC Bayern Munich's star midfielder Michael Ballack. Media reports on Friday said the club was ready to pay Bayern Munich up to €12 million ($14.6 million) for the German national player's transfer. Sport magazine reported that Barcelona President Joan Laporta had already discussed Ballack's possible transfer with Bayern President Franz Beckenbauer and chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. Ballack, however is staying tight-lipped about the reports. "I can't say anything about it and at present I don't want to say anything about it either," he said on Friday. Ballack, who was the German team's joint leading scorer with four goals for the Euro 2004 qualifier, however has failed to lift Bayern Munich's fortunes this year. The club finished the season without a title and had to settle for second spot in the Bundesliga.
