Bayer Gets U.S. Approval for Viagra Rival

Germany's Bayer has received permission from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to sell its impotence treatment Levitra in the United States. The chemical and pharmaceutical conglomerate said it expected Levitra to be available in pharmacies throughout the country in the next few weeks. "Levitra has the potential to become a new blockbuster product with projected sales of more than €1 billion ($1.1 billion)," Bayer head Werner Wenning proclaimed. Levitra has already been authorized for use in over 50 countries, he said.
