Berlin celebrates Nefertiti

TV magazine Arts.21; show runs December 8-10

On December 6, 1912, the bust of Queen Nefertiti was unearthed in the ruins of the el-Amarna archaeological site in Egypt. Berlin's New Museum is marking this anniversary with a major exhibition. "In the Light of Amarna. 100 Years of the Find of Nefertiti" is due to open on the capital's Museum Island on December 7, and is set to run until April 13, 2013. Six hundred additional exhibits will help to recreate the era of the royal couple Akhenaten and Nefertiti from the 14th century BC – half of the items have never been on show before. Arts.21 is on location to immerse itself in the world of the pharaoh's beautiful wife.
