Blair, Chirac and Schröder to Discuss Iraq in Berlin

The leaders of Germany, France and Britain will meet in Berlin on Saturday to try to hammer out a common position on Iraq. "The meeting will foster a coming to agreement on common foreign policy interests after there were divergent opinions in the run-up to the Iraq war," a statement released by the German government on Tuesday said. Whereas Britain was the United States’ staunchest supporter in the campaign to oust Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, Germany and France were among the strongest critics of the war. German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, French President Jacques Chirac and British Prime Minister Tony Blair will also discuss economic and European affairs.
