After the scandals at VW and Infineon, another case of corporate malfeasance has surfaced on the German business landscape. According to prosecutors in Munich, a 54-year-old purchasing employee at BMW and a 45-year-old officer of a supplier have been arrested. The BMW employee is charged with accepting $100,000 (82,800 euros) in bribes from the supplier in return for awarding contracts. On Tuesday, investigators searched the offices of both men and confiscated a large number of documents that are now being analyzed. The prosecutor's office stressed that BMW has been aware of the investigations from the beginning and the company cooperated with the investigation and aided in setting up the searches. BMW has said the matter is infuriating but that it is limited to the inappropriate behavior of a few individuals.
