Before the fall of the Wall, the area around Zoologischer Garten and the Kurfürstendamm was the most glamorous part of West Berlin. But it fell out of fashion in the 1990s, when the cool crowd started to flock to the East. But its fortunes are now changing once again, thanks to the opening of the revamped Zoo Palast cinema, the Waldorf Astoria, the 25Hours Hotel and the "Bikini-Haus" mall.
