Britain's conservative party has been celebrating sweeping victories in municipal elections around the country. They beat the governing labor party by a margin of almost 2 to 1. Their biggest accomplishment was winning back the mayor's office in London. The results are seen as a huge setback for Prime Minister Gordon Brown and his Labor party who are expected to face a tough challenge in parliamentary elections to be held no later than 2010.
