German Chancellor Angela Merkel has called for unity in the European Union as leaders of the 27-member bloc head for Brussels today for a crisis meeting on how to respond to Ireland's "no" vote to the EU reform treaty. Merkel dismissed calls for a two-speed or core Europe and said that she personally still has what she described as a passionate interest in implementing EU reform.
