Bundesliga Matchday 12 in pictures
Borussia Dortmund couldn't return to winning ways as Stuttgart continued their fantastic run of home form. Bayern Munich extended their perfect record under Jupp Heynckes, but Leipzig were held in Leverkusen.
Bartra-Burki horror show
The most remarkable moment of the game came after just five minutes when Chadrac Akolo pounced on a poor error from Marc Bartra. The Spanish defender overhit a back pass, Roman Bürki mis-controlled and Akolo took advantage to give Stuttgart the lead.
Legally blonde
There's no stopping Bayern Munich at the moment and they recorded yet another win under Jupp Heynckes. Robert Lewandowski, sporting a new blonde look, scored Bayern's second — above — and third goals in a 3-0 win to make it a miserable trip to Munich for Augsburg.
First blood to Leipzig
Timo Werner got the ball rolling for Leipzig, lashing a confidently struck penalty into the roof of the net. It was the Germany striker's eighth league goal of the season, but Leipzig were held to a 2-2 draw in Leverkusen.
Piledriver
Kevin-Prince Boateng is not the guy you want to gift possession to 25 meters from goal. The midfielder seized on a loose ball and unleashed a venomous drive that flew over the Hoffenheim keeper and struck the back of the net, setting Frankfurt on their way to what looked like a huge win. But a late Hoffenheim equalizer ensured a 1-1 draw.
Carneval in Mainz
There was a buzzing atmosphere in Mainz, who beat their Carneval rivals Cologne 1-0 despite being down to 10 men for the last 20 minutes. Cologne are still without a win in the Bundesliga this season, and that should be alarming for Peter Stöger's side.
Winning Wolfsburg
It took Wolfsburg barely three minutes to take the lead against Freiburg, and it was Yannick Gerhardt whose opener got Martin Schmidt's side up and running. Wolfsburg held on for a 3-1 win, their first Bundesliga victory after seven draws under Schmidt.
On the spot
Borussia Mönchengladbach went third in the Bundesliga on Saturday night after a goal-fest in Berlin. Thorgan Hazard (pictured) scored the second from the spot after a handball by Hertha's Karim Rekik as the Foals raced into a 3-0 first-half lead. Despite a Hertha fightback, Dieter Hecking's side eventually ran out 4-2 winners.
Firing Franco
Franco Di Santo gives Schalke the lead from the penalty spot, bringing up his first league goal of the season. In fact, it was Di Santo's first Bundesliga goal since March 2016, having gone the whole of last season — or 1,054 minutes — without finding the net.
Kruse control
Werder Bremen celebrate Max Kruse's first goal of the game — Bremen's second — which was a strike to behold. The forward caressed the ball first-time into the top corner to put daylight between them and Hannover. Kruse scored a hat-trick, his first Bundesliga goals this season.
