Bayern had no problems in Cologne but the most impressive result of the day came for a resurgent Hoffenheim. Claudio Pizarro has now scored 101 Bundesliga goals for Bremen, while Darmstadt picked up a win at Wolfsburg.

Werder Bremen 1-1 Mainz

Claudio Pizarro has drawn level with Marco Bode as Werder Bremen's highest-scorer in the Bundesliga after the Peruvian scored his 101st goal for the club in a 1-1 draw at home to Mainz. The Carnival Club took the lead on 38 minutes, scoring through Julian Baumgartlinger but couldn't add to their impressive run of form. They now sit three points off fourth. Pizarro tucked home the equalizer from the penalty spot on the stroke of half-time to claim his 12th of the season. Neither side could seal the winner in the second half, but a point for Bremen keeps them in 14th place.

Hamburg 1-3 Hoffenheim

Hoffenheim moved out of the bottom two with a 3-1 win at Hamburg as the team continued its improved run of form under Julian Nagelsmann. It was a bad afternoon for Rene Adler who made two catastrophic errors to hand the visitors the lead. First, he gave away a spot-kick, which was converted by Kramaric on 20 minutes. Then three minutes later Adler conceded an indirect free-kick. Kevin Volland took full advantage, lashing home after a lay off.

Aaron Hunt pulled one back on the half hour mark, but Hoffenheim were dangerous throughout. Volland capped off a superb personal display, assisting Eduardo Vargas who finished emphatically with 23 minutes of the game left to secure their first away win in 14 matches.

Wolfsburg 1-1 Darmstadt

Andre Schürrle scored late on to deny Darmstadt a smash-and-grab win at eighth-placed Wolfsburg. The Lillies are six points clear of the second automatic relegation position - albeit having played a game more than Eintracht Frankfurt. Sandro Wagner scored with eight minutes to play but Schürrle equalized to ensure the points were shared.

Hertha Berlin 2-1 Ingolstadt

(Haraguchi 54', Kalou 68' - Hinterseer 74')

Two second-half goals helped Hertha to a 2-0 win over Ingolstadt which consolidates third-place in the table. After a goalless first half, Genki Haraguchi swept in the opener on 54 minutes before he turned provider for Salomon Kalou on 68 minutes. Ingolstadt's Lukas Hinterseer cut the deficit with a quarter of an hour to go but Hertha stayed in control of the game and took the points.

Cologne 0-1 Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to eight points with a 1-0 win at Cologne. After a dramatic turnaround in midweek against Juventus, Pep Guardiola left Thomas Müller, Philipp Lahm and Arturo Vidal on the bench. Lewandowski's great finish on 10 minutes was the highlight for the champions who are still in the hunt for the treble.
