Bundestag votes to relax laws regulating embryonic stem cell research - je 08.04.2008 18

The German Parliament, the Bundestag, has voted to relax the country's laws regulating embryonic stem cell research. A range of proposals were considered, including complete liberalisation. A more moderate option supported by Research Minister Annette Schavan was approved. Now scientists will be able to use cell lines created before May 1st, 2007, but the material must still be imported from abroad.
