US President George W. Bush has begun his third and final day in Israel and the Palestinian territories with a visit to the Yad Vashem memorial in Jerusalem. +++LM-Rein+++ The US president was received there by Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and President Shimon Peres. The memorial commemorates the six million Jews murdered by Nazi Germany during World War II and is an obligatory stop for foreign dignitaries visiting Israel. +++LM-Raus+++ On Thursday, Bush met with Palestinian leaders in the West Bank where he said achieving peace in the Mideast would require painful compromises from both sides.
