Charges against more than 1,300 German anti-war demonstrators accused of disturbing the peace have been dropped, the peace activist group Friedenskooperative said on Friday. A judge dismissed the cases against demonstrators who blocked access to an American airbase near Frankfurt during the war in Iraq this spring, according to the group. The city had pressed charges for breaking public assembly laws and had demanded the protestors pay a fee of €118.50 ($132.77). Criminal proceedings for resisting arrest continue in more than a dozen cases.
