Chronopharmacology - Time for Medicine

May 20, 2013

A medicine's effectiveness depends on when it's taken. At least that's what a group of researchers from Heidelberg hope to prove. If their animal testing trials could be applied to humans, it could mean that patients with high blood pressure should only take their medicine once a day before bed.

This would cause their blood pressure to fall over night and normalize throughout the day. The researchers also suspect that taking other medications at certain times can enhance their positive effects.
