We're now going to the eastern French city of Strasbourg which is right on the border with Germany. In fact the city has been French and German at different times in its history and is very much influenced by both cultures. Today it's the seat of the Council of Europe and many important European Union institutions. With the French taking over the Presidency of the EU - which rotates every six months - it's good enough reason to pay the city a visit.
