Building Bridges - 60 Years of Deutsche Welle

https://p.dw.com/p/18T9V

Explaining Germany to the world, promoting international cultural exchange - these have been Deutsche Welle’s guiding principles for the last 60 years. The first broadcast was a radio program on 3 May 1953. Since then, Deutsche Welle has long since become a global television and Internet presence, too. People from 60 nations are involved in producing multi-media programming in 30 languages. They see themselves as bridge-builders between the world’s cultures.

The film traces the broadcaster’s history and offers plenty of insights: journalists at work aroung the world, international trainees attending the DW AKADEMIE or the presenter of Shabab Talk, a debating forum for young people from Germany and the Arab World.
