Colombian Soldiers Search for Tourists

Thousands of Colombian soldiers, aided by Blackhawk helicopters are combing the jungle around Colombia's "Lost City" for eight tourists, including a German, believed kidnapped by rebel guerrillas over the weekend. The group, which included two Britons, four Israelis and a Spaniard, was reportedly nabbed while trekking through the jungle in the Sierra Nevada on their way to the ruins of the ancient Ciudad Perdida. The government is holding the FARC, a Marxist rebel group that has waged a decades old civil war with the government, responsible. The kidnapping comes just a month after Germany helped negotiate the release of 14 European tourists - including nine Germans - from the hands of kidnappers in the Sahara desert.
