A court in Koblenz, Germany, on Thursday rejected a claim by survivors of a 1988 accident at an air show on the U.S. airbase Ramstein. Judges dismissed the case brought by five people on behalf of 100 victims who were seeking compensation for psychological trauma after Italian stunt planes crashed at the air show killing 70 people and injuring 450. The ruling comes just days following the 15th anniversary of the disaster on August 28. The plaintiffs had sought €50,000 ($46,129) for each victim suffering from disorders ranging from panic attacks to trouble sleeping. Ramstein victims had already received around €15 million for physical injury and deaths related to the crash.
