What his office called a dizzy spell in June was really a slight stroke, Germany's Defense Minister Peter Struck admitted to the Bild newspaper this week. The 61-year-old, who came back to work on Monday, began a two-week tour of Germany's military bases Tuesday, looking for ways to reduce the armed forces by 250,000. Struck, who has already suffered two heart attacks, said he plans to stay in office until the end of his term in 2006. He didn't rule out remaining a member of the government longer -- depending on what voters decide in 2006 parliamentary elections.
