Novak Djokovic ended the 2012 ATP season with a 7-6 (8-6), 7-5 defeat over Roger Federer to win the World Tour Finals on Monday night in London's Thames-side 02 Arena.

With the win, the 25 year old Belgrade native denied Federer a seventh title at the elite season-ender.

Djokovic found himself 3-0 down in the opening set and 5-3 down in the second but fought back hard enough to seal the victory in two hours 14 minutes.

The win marked the second time that Djokovic had won the season finale after taking home the trophy in 2008 in Shanghai.

"This is my first time to be in this position here in London at the tournament," said Djokovic, who started 2012 with an Australian Open title. "Roger and I pushed each other the maximum today.”
