DW-TV to be honored at the Slovakian film festival

At the Ekotopfilm 2001 festival in Bratislava, DW-TV will be honored for its series "Adventure Medicine" with the prize of the Ministry of Health of the Slovak Republic. Deutsche Welle announced that its television service had won the prize for the fifth time on November 6, which is presented annually at the film festival.

The series of four programs reported on among other things, the latest research developments in Cardiology. Other issues were new treatments in ophthalmology, innovative strategies in the battle against cancer and improvement in the medical treatment of children.

DW-TV broadcast the program worldwide in November and December 2001 in German and English. It was later adapted into Spanish and rebroadcast.

The authors were Anne Hoffman (44), Friederike Seifert (36) and Andreas Neuhaus (40) who work for DW-tv on a freelance basis.

Andreas Neuhaus was also recently honored with the German Economic film prize for his documentary on Nanotechnology. Anne Hoffman also recently won the North Rhine Westphalia prize for her documentary on Rheumatism.
