DW-TV wins 2001 Economic Film Prize

German international television wins prize for the 9th consecutive time!

Andreas Neuhaus (40), a freelance journalist at DW-tv has been recognised with German Economic Film prize for his documentary, "Life's motor - A new era in Cardic research." The award was in the category "Economic innovation for lasting quality of life."

The prize donated by the federal ministry for Economics and Technology has now been won by DW-TV for the ninth consecutive time and will be presented on November 22, 2001 in Ludwigsburg. The 25 minute long documentary was one of 55 entries and part of a seven story series that was broadcast world wide in German and English in February 2001.

DW-TV has adapted the feature into Spanish and will rebroadcast it on November 29, 2001. Andreas Neuhaus studied Theatrical Sciences and Philosophy in Erlangen and has been a journalist at DW-TV since 1995. Mr. Neuhaus previously won the Economic Film Prize in 1999, and in the same year won an award at the Slovakian Ekotopfilm Festival for his series on Nanotechnology.
