Ecological disaster threatens the coast of Louisiana as a giant oil slick reaches the shore

The Gulf Coast of the United States is bracing itself for the arrival of one of the worst oil spills in US history. Parts of the crude oil slick has already reached the Louisiana coastline. The US government has declared a national disaster.. +++LM REIN+++ and sent senior government members to assess the situation in the states of Loiusiana, MISSISippi, Alabama, and Florida. +++LM RAUS+++ More than 750 thousands litres are pouring out of a ruptured oil well in the Gulf of Mexico every day - Over the past 24 hours rough weather conditions have been pushing the slick faster towards the coast than initially expected.
