World leaders are gearing up for this weekend's summit on the global economy in Washington. Some governments are calling for a greater lending role for the International Monetary Fund as a way out of the economic crisis - a move opposed by Russia and China. Beijing has initiated its own stimulus package worth 585 Billion dollars which is focusing on public projects - especially infrastructure. China has also joined Europe is asking President George Bush to support tighter regulations for international financial markets.
