EU summit in Brussels: Talks about Mediterranean Union - je 13.03.2008 18

European Union leaders meeting in Brussels have given a guarded welcome to a watered-down version of French President Nicolas Sarkozy's Mediterranean Union proposal. Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are expected to officially present the plan to the EU summit in a few hours. Sarkozy's critics say the project is little more than a repackaged version of an existing EU initiative known as the Barcelona Process. Launched in 1995 - it has made little progress.
