March 12, 2008

Wednesday, March 12, marks the 50th anniversary of the European Parliament. In an interview with DW-RADIO, Sebastian Kurpas, a research fellow at the Center for European Policy Studies, a Brussels-based think tank, says that the parliament's powers have actually increased and will continue to do so in the future.

DW-RADIO's Sam Edmonds began by asking whether EU parliamentarians from 1958 would be surprised by how things have developed during the last half century. Click on the audio link below to listen to the interview.
