Shots were fired at Pakistani Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s motorcade near Islamabad’s airport on Wednesday. Gilani was not in the motorcade but the incident remains of importance against Pakistan’s present backdrop of political instability and Islamist militant violence.
