Faith-based organizations, or FBOs, play an important role in the story of African development. In some countries, up to 70 percent of health services are organized by groups affiliated with Churches or Muslim organizations. Some politicians seem nervous about the growing importance and influence of FBO's - on a continent here foreign-funded groups act as a safety net for millions of people.
