Foreign Journalists Arrive in Tibet

March 26, 2008

About two dozen foreign journalists selected by the Chinese authorities have arrived in the Tibetan capital Lhasa to witness the consequences of the protests that erupted last month. Tibet’s spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, has urged the Chinese authorities to give the journalists a free hand. The two-day trip to Tibet is the first by foreign journalists since the unrest erupted earlier this month.
