France: China's Growing Taste for French Wine

The French are proud of their wine and it has long been one of the country's most successful exports. Now wealthy Chinese are buying up French wine estates.

In recent years, Chinese investors have begun buying up wine-growing properties in Bordeaux and Burgundy, sending prices sky-rocketing. The development has met with strong resistance among French vintners.
