He was "detected upon his arrival at the Disneyland hotel where he had a reservation. Hotel security found two handguns, a Koran and ammunition," a French police official told the AFP news agency on Thursday.

The official added that no one was injured during the arrest, and refused to provide the man's name, citing French law enforcement policy.

Police are searching for the woman who was with the man after they arrested

Police said that a woman was with the man, but left as he was questioned by security. Another woman was arrested and then released in an apparent case of mistaken identity. Authorities are still searching for the suspect.

Disneyland Paris is located around 30 kilometers (18 miles) east of the nation's capital. It is one of Europe's most-visited theme parks, with Disneyland Paris saying it recorded 14.8 million visits in 2015.

France remains on edge after militants in November carried out a series of attacks in Paris that killed at least 130 and wounded several hundred. That assault was claimed by the so-called "Islamic State" militant group.
