Bayern threatened legal action against Kicker and Sport Bild

Kicker and Sport Bild published contract details of Arturo Vidal, with the latter claiming he was drunk at the club's winter training camp. Both media outlets have since conceded the stories were untrue.

Sport Bild and Kicker have been forced to concede allegations made about Bayern Munich player Arturo Vidal, following the threat of legal action from the club.

The Bundesliga club delivered a cease-and-desist letter to both sports magazines, demanding that they stop publishing stories about the Chilean international.

Each publication published stories detailing the salary of the midfielder but have since conceded that such information is false, following legal action from the club.

Similarly, Sport Bild published another story stating that Vidal was misbehaving during the club's winter break training camp, stating that he had 'left the team base on several occasions and appeared to be under the influence of alcohol on his return.'

Following a legal threat from the player himself and the club Sport Bild conceded that the allegations made about the player were false.

In a club statement, chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, said: "The media are currently spreading many rumors and much speculaton about FC Bayern. In the future FC Bayern will vigorously pursue legal action against false and malicous allegations to protect the club, its players and the coaching staff."
