German Musical Has "Seoul"

, a musical based on the German original Linie 1, has become a runaway hit in Korea, and will celebrate its 2000th performance next month. Since opening in 1994, it has drawn more than 420,000 viewers. The Seoul-based drama company Hakchon is celebrating the milestone by inviting Volker Ludwig, who wrote the play, to bring Berlin's Grips Theater to stage the German version of the play in Seoul. "I feel honored and pressured at the same time, performing in front of an audience that thoroughly supported 'Line 1' for such a long time," Ludwig told the Korea Herald newspaper.
