German School Bans Belly-Baring Tops

Girls who show up at school dressed in the skimpiest of navel-baring tops and lowest of hipster jeans could soon be forced to cover up with some very unfashionable gear. The principal of a school in Bavaria has stocked up on oversize T-shirts that reach to the students' knees. The reason? The girls' increasingly daring choice of outfits á la popsters Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera were proving too much of a distraction to the school's male pupils. The school's board also said it had the girls' best interests at heart as all that exposed skin was a health-risk, especially in wintertime. The girls' parents were informed of the T-shirt cover-up plan in a letter, and there was not a single objection, the school said.
