The German death toll from the Indian Ocean tsunami rose to 178 Monday, but it is likely to increase further as more bodies are identified through DNA tests, the government said. Fifteen of the Germans who died were tourists on winter sun breaks in beach resorts in Sri Lanka. The rest were in Thailand. Foreign ministry spokesman Walter Lindner said 462 Germans who had been in the region were still listed as missing more than two months after the disaster which killed more than 270,000 people.
