Germany has chosen its base for next year's FIFA World Cup in Brazil. The unfinished resort is in a village called Santo André, about 1,100km north-east of Rio de Janeiro. The decision to go with a new venue rather than one of the 83 suggested by FIFA has fueled debate about whether the German Football Association is too picky.
