Congratulations to Barack Obama on his historic victory have been pouring in from all over the world. German chancellor angela merkel said she was convinced that Europe and the US would continue to work closely on the challenges and dangers that face the world, and she invited the new president-elect to visit Germany. Many ordinary Germans have also been celebrating the news of Obama's victory.
