The German government has called for two minutes of silence across Germany on Thursday to remember the victims of last week's bombing attacks in London. German Interior Minister Otto Schily announced Wednesday that there will be a two-minute silence starting at 1 p.m., as was requested by the British government. More than 50 people were killed last Thursday in the British capital when four bombs planted by Islamic extremists blew up on three underground trains and a bus.
