Germany welcomes a deal to save carmaker Opel but warns of a rocky road ahead

German chancellor Angela Merkel has welcomed a deal to save Opel/Vauxhall- the European arm of ailing US carmaker General Motors. But she also warned that the company still faces huge challenges. The agreement between the German government and the Canadian car parts maker Magna came after six hours of talks in the german capital. Berlin hopes the agreement will save tens of thousands of jobs. Critics however including the country's economics minister - say the deal is too risky.
