Germany's trade surplus declined slightly in December as both exports and imports fell, official data showed on Thursday. The German trade surplus -- the balance between exports and imports -- amounted to €10.7 billion ($13.6 billion) in December, slightly lower than the €12 billion recorded in November, the federal statistics office, Destatis, calculated in preliminary figures. The biggest eurozone economy exported goods worth €59.5 billion in December, down a calendar and seasonally adjusted 4.0 percent from November, while imports declined by 6.4 percent to €48.8 billion, the statisticians said. Taking into account trade in services and income, Germany's current account showed a surplus of €5.9 billion in December, down from a surplus of €9.1 billion in November.
