Glitz and Glamour at Berlinale

Berlin may lack the glamour and oomph of the cream of film festivals such as Cannes and Venice, but the sheer volume of visitors and a list that reads the who's who of the show biz world makes it one of the most important venues for the global film business. With over 300 films, including 59 German productions, this year's Berlinale has a huge choice of blockbusters, short films, children's films and documentaries on show, including 26 world premiers.

But the main attraction of the Berlin Film Festival is the entourage of stars who grace the German capital for the event. This year, legends from the world of film have announced their arrival in Berlin -- from directors Spike Lee, Oliver Stone, Michael Winterbottom and Oskar Roehler to Hollywood heavyweights Kevin Spacey, Macaulay Culkin, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Meryl Streep and George Clooney.

DW-WORLD.DE brings you highlights, interviews and the latest Berlinale snippets live from the scene as the cameras roll and the action begins.
